AssistXVA is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Remote Bookkeeper to join our team and support our clients' financial operations. This role begins with a guaranteed minimum of 88 billable hours per month, with the direct expectation and pathway to scale into a full-time position based on performance and client growth.

Reconciliations: Accurately reconcile bank, credit card, and merchant accounts on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure all financial data is properly captured.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage A/P and A/R workflows, including creating and sending invoices, tracking incoming payments, following up on past-due accounts, and processing vendor bills.
General Ledger Maintenance: Categorize daily transactions, maintain an accurate and up-to-date general ledger, and resolve any discrepancies.
Financial Reporting: Prepare standard monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss (Income Statement), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
Month-End/Year-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring books are pristine and ready for the client's CPA or tax professional.
Receipt & Document Management: Organize and maintain digital financial records, receipts, and tax-related documents.
Client Communication: Provide clear, timely, and professional updates to clients regarding their financial standing, missing documentation, or necessary clarifications.
Experience: Proven past experience working as a bookkeeper, accounting assistant, or in a similar financial role.
Language Fluency: Must be fully fluent in English (both written and spoken). Exceptional communication skills are required for daily interactions with U.S.-based clients and team members.
Software Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with industry-standard accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero) and familiarity with spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets).
Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting.
Remote Work Readiness: Must have a quiet, dedicated home workspace, a modern computer, and a highly reliable, high-speed internet connection.
Attributes: High degree of accuracy, strict attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
